Hello,

The recent addition of the Birthday List in the member menu was a good idea, but could we please have an automatic sending of a virtual 'happy birthday' every day?

This is good for encouraging people to come back to the site.  It's a standard feature in Dolphin  (from Boonexx) for example.

So simple, but so important!

This is fine for single sex profiles .... how will that work for couples - given none of the templates / functionality seems to work for anything other than single sex profiles Huh Thanks Paul  Cool

That's RIGHT!  I think I've read that Paul has mentioned this issue of couples not having 2 birthday filed before and I agree with him 1000%. If the software could have a different routine for COUPLE -vs- SINGLE profiles it could ask for 2 birthdays?

An alternative would be to convert the BIRTHDAY for couples to an ANNIVERSARY date so Emil's programming group?  That way couples can feel SPECIAL about being a couple without having to feel left out from the birthdays?

The BEST OF ALL possible "Feature Suggestion" would be to have 2 birthdays for couples PLUS an Anniversary feture.

Happy-birthday letter is not a question. We'll do that shortly.

About couple anniversary date I think it's best to make the feature universal. You can create a field with "date" type and create an email template that you wish to send to the member on this date every year. Thus you are not limited and not hardwired to anything, you can even send congratulations with your pet birthday on your Dog Lovers site.

If that sounds reasonable we can elaborate something like that.

Hmmmmm would still like to see more of the single sex functionality expanded to cover "couples" - why have them as a gender type otherwise  Embarrassed

Regarding Emil's note, I think he means something like this:
Create for every profile date field special email template, which admin can modify. System will send this email when the current date is the same as the value of this field in profile. For exam, you can create Birthday message for birthdate field. This message will be sent by system to profiles, which date of birth is current day.
You can create the same message for another date fields.

Looks good. Let me know if anything can be added or changed in this mod, because I want to move this topic to Skadate 7

Can you provide an example, maybe the actual STEP-BY-STEP to accomplish this?  I'd happily do this if there were instructions but I don't want to go blindly into these areas and mess anything up attempting this...

Yes this should be part of SkaDate 7.   Other than if there is an Anniversary Date too? Anything else I can think of is actually another subject.
