when a user posts a new event listing, it should appear in the admin section under "pending approval" instead of having to look in the "events" section of the admin panel.

sorry if this was mentioned already but how about an "i will be attending" feature in the events section. member a puts up an event, member b clicks a button that they will be attending the event.
as well what if on the members profile who listed the event, it is seen that this person has an event lined up.

We run monthly meet and mingles for our members and currently use the blog function to run a guest list - by letting members add a comment to the blog topic (the specific event) created by us - this works a certain degree BUT is long winded and labour intensive job - our last function was attended by around 150 members and so a proper guestlist function would be great and also linked out to a payment provider for event ticket purchase/deposit.

users should be able to view local area events based on either their zip code or state as opposed to seeing events that are not relevant to their geographic. admin should also be able to set the state where the ad is to be displayed.

I agree with you guys on this...
This goes back to my prior request and yet another reason the location fields need to be static (via drop down). This way location is consistent across the entire site. Making the location fields a "text area" gives every member the freedom to put whatever they want.
I think giving us the option to add Cities and States to the corresponding Countries would be a great benefit to us all. I don't mind entering them in the admin panel if I had to, but can't because these fields don't even show up to be edited under "Profile Fields".

This is quite possible Scallywags since location is a compulsory field for Events Upload. So countries in Europe could be a possible location!
I am in Canada

A large number of Admins website focus on Niche Marketing, also these Admins conduct several events throughtout the year for their members as a way to grow their website. As such the features below are important for Skadate 7:
- Mailing List function(News Letter)- which allow members to opt in and opt out - Purchase Tickets*- members should be able to purchase tickets for Events set by Admin - Mass Mails- Admin should be able to send mass mails to members on this Mailing List(Newsletter). - Current Mass Mails function should have a location field as well- To encourage Targeted Ads....
* Since members are allowed to upload Events as well then the Purchase Ticket feature should be optional and Admins should be allow to set it(purchase tickets) to his/her Events only
Note: These feature are relatively easy to implement and would be beneficial to the majority of Admins who conduct events for their members Easton

As we now now run a monthly event we have just started using a on event/ticket management system "EventBrite" - perhaps the guys at SKADATE could have a look at this its really function - even if you could replicate some of the functionality that would be great - or maybe consider developing into their API ?? Cheers Paul
