I am absolutely convinced now that this Skadate Video Function doesn't not work and interestingly i am using Skadate hosting! I have an alternative, it would be better to have members Upload Videos using Video URLs or Embedded codes from popular video sharing sites such as YouTube.com. I have provided a list below:

Youtube web address "URL" or embed code, Google Video web address "URL" , MySpace web address "URL" or embed code Break embed code , Daily Motion embed code, MetaCafe web address "URL" or embed code Revver web address "URL" or embed code Snotr web address "URL" or embed code Imeem Video

Apparently there is an issue with my site, and i understand that there are other admins having problems with Video Function. However, i do think members should be allowed to upload videos to their profile from popular video sharing sites.

My specific Problem: (1)Taking too long to upload videos (2) When videos do upload, it is not showing(Black View)!

Skadate uses FFMPEG technology to convert video in Flash format, therefore video can't always be uploaded properly.

The approximate list of possible errors if uploaded video do not show:
1) ffmpeg do not support the uploaded video format
2) the video file is corrupted
3) ffmpeg do not installed properly.
4) etc...

If upload videos taking tool long, it means that you try to upload very big video file or the server is too slow to convert such video. For exam, if you try to upload video on Youtube, you will be able to play it after one or two days.
We plan to do the same way in Skadate7.

Well there need to be some flexibility in SkaDate software....

(1) SkaDate software should be flexible to accommodate a variety of latest Technology that can convert video in Flash Format....

(2) The ability for members to upload Third Party videos from popular share video sites such as YouTube.com. This works perfectly on such popular site as Tdotwire.com. They allowed their members to Upload YouTube videos.

Agreed with you Easton.
We try to do our best to make converting video easier. Admin Panel has an option to configure all paths to ffmpeg libraries. On our site anybody can find the full list of ffmpeg libraries which need to be installed on server.
Seems the main problem is the used technology - ffmpeg. It isn't works always perfect, that's why we plan to integrate Youtube support in SkaDate7. In this way, admin will have 2 options:
- convert video on him own site with his own watermarks
- convert video on third party resource.

Totally AGREED, Third Party video support, wonderful idea now some Admins don't have to worry about not having member videos not uploaded to their site!

As long as this functionality is optional at Admin level and not delivered as a 'fate complete'  Wink

It would be Optional as suggested by Adden, seems like your Video Function is working fine. Unlike some Admins around here!!
