This is an old problem with past releases ... minimum compatibility should be ie6/ie7 and firefox. One day maybe the odd MAC user will be able to use my site ...  Sad

Unbelievable, how come? I know that Skadate wants to keep up on top with latest Browsers. However,  Skadate should allow a variety of browser use, from IE6 upwards and Firefox. Now i know why some members having problems viewing certain features on my site. This is totally ridiculous...

Can someone from Skadate tell us where to view the SUPPORTED BROWSWER for Skadate?  I need to be able to reference that in my reply to the email that I was sent saying you don't support IE6.

Two things:

1.  Where would we find that information Mr. Adden (I mean besides asking in this thread?) For future reference?  All companies publish this somewhere on their website.
GOT LINK?
2.  I tested the "NEXT" button on the home page of "FEATURED" and it repeats the list of featured members from the home page... BUT it does work better than it used to.

3. The [Forum Search] - Did a search on User "blah" and it DOESNT WORK in Firefox nor IE7.

4. Chat (Firefox) - Now works but the default test is BLACK and the background is BLACK so only if the member changes the color of their text to something else the words DON'T show up next to the entered information.  No one would know who said what.

Hi all!

I tried to figure out all reports and requests at this topic and answer them:

1) there is an error message in the tags area.
Answer: FIXED

2) the preferences link located in the home section dips below the text box. needs to be realigned.
Answer: FIXED

3) I thought the admin was going to be able to select what photos are to be seen on the main screen.
Answer: was this discussed on this forum? please, would you profie a link?

4) i like the new subscription page, but is there a place for text to be added so that customers understand how credits work.
Answer: Yes, sure. Go to Admin Panel->Membership Types and find option "This plan structure used on subscribe page for credit payments' plans". Change the text of this key as you wish.

5) i also do not see how a user can choose their payment plan between a single purchase or recurring subscription.
Answer: Configurable via Admin Panel->Membership Types , specifin description for any plan, you can label it as recurring

6) i would like to see an on/off option for the auto-renewing of a subscription so that if a user turns the option off, their subscription will go until expiration and revert back to Free.
Answer: TWe plan to include it in version update.

7) forums not showing
Answer: You need to create new forums in admin.

Cool I Try to add Profile Comment, why it is still saying "Friend's Only Comment" ? As suggested, i would like Public(anyone) Comment as default. This means anyone can post a Profile Comment, if member wants Friend's Only Comment after, then member can choose that.
Answer: Fixed

9) > Skye Number should be optional during Registration
Answer: Configurable via Admin Panel

10) > Member should be able to also set background image and colour together. For example, Member A set background Image and Colour and Both Image and Colour are showing together.
Answer: Please, test it better. It should works as well.

11) > Send Friend Request should be both Internal and External mail
Answer: When Member A sens frind request to Member B. Member B gets this request into his internal mailbox and recieve email about new request to his email. Check it again please.

12) > " Ideal First Date" field on registration form needs fixing.  New registrant unable to write text.
Answer: Fixed.

13) I typed in a very long e-mail text body (ahem!) and then only put in a "test e-mail address"; I got an error message (Specify the profile name whose info will be assigned to template vars!), and then had to type in the e-mail all over again!  If there is an error, it should not throw away the content in the fields which are correct!
Answer: Fixed

14) I don't really understand what the "Profile Name" field is all about anyway.  If it's to fill in a value for the {$profile_username} field, then there should also be space for {$profile_email} and
{$unsubscribe_url}, and there should be defaults filled in for me (e.g. "$profile_username" would allow me to see where the username would appear).
Answer: Profile username - is the some test profile Username from your active profiles. The system will takes all nessesary values from this profile and replace it with vars in letter temaplate

15) the test e-mail I sent to myself with simply the content "test" arrived with the following content.  It's not usable like this, and should just have sent me the content "test":
Answer: try it again.

16) Mailbox changes.
Answer: there is only one change in mailbox for this revision. We discussed it here http://www.skalfa.com/boards/confirmed-changes-for-the-upcoming-update-may-08/member-mailbox-clean-up-t229.0.html

17) The captcha image function works but if you don't enter it correcly the user is taken to a NEW page that doesn't have their message for contacting on it.  The users MESSAGE/EMAIL should STAY on the page they are at... it should KEEP all the data that was entered in case they want to change it before re-entering the correct captcha number.  Taking the user to a BLANK page with only the captcha number to enter is not how it works on your other  pages.  This should work the same.
Answer: Fixed

18) This should work like any other "email confirmation" since it can come from ANYBODY (not just a member) so message should work more like JOIN.  Members should be sent through but if they are a NON-MEMBER they should have to CONFIRMED their email address... only THEN should it be sent to the Administrator.  Non-members should have to check and confirm the link that was sent to their email address and ONLY THEN will we get back to them.
Answer: Can't agree with this. Any contact form has only one email fields. This is not the Join form.

19) Also, when i look at the front of the profiles in the beta version...where we see for example GOLD or FREE...Why is there a red X on the left ?
Answer: Didn't find this report. Would you provide with screenshot?

20) JOIN doesn't work when you select the United States (Are you trying to tell me something? LOL)
Answer: Fixed

21) JOIN page REQUIRES a Skype number.  WRONG.
Answer: this is configurable from admin panel

22) ----------------- CHAT ---------------
Doesn't work at all for Firefox
Answer: Somebody enabled Chuppo Chat in admin panel. BUt Chuppo Chat is n't configured for this site.

23) IE6 Support:
Answer: It impossible to support both IE6&IE7 browsers. Because they too different (Thanks Microsoft guys LOL). So, we decied to support only IE7, because it is more popular in Internet. See official stat http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

24) Fill sized Photos:
Answer: Fixed. Try to empty cache in your browser and refresh the page.

25) The [Forum Search] - Did a search on User "blah" and it DOESNT WORK in Firefox nor IE7.
Answer: You can search only by post and topics on forum. Not by username

26) Chat (Firefox) - Now works but the default test is BLACK and the background is BLACK so only if the member changes the color of their text to something else the words DON'T show up next to the entered information.  No one would know who said what.
Answer: fixed

27) PROBLEM: Missing tab for "REJECTED Friend Requests"
Answer: We didn't discuss it as well. Member A can send unlimited friends requests to Member B, and member B can decline all of them. Also, member B can block member A and member A will not be able to send friends requests.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This fixes didn't applied yet at the BETA revision for testing (http://www.skadate.com/revision_beta/index.php) .
At this stage we prepare DB update scripts and we hope to release it officially in a few days.
Going to drink a cup of coffee and continue work Smiley

Thanks all!

I think after DB update scripts, you can do an Official Public Release.... any other fixes are very minor and can be changed in Skadate 7. Come on Skadate... Members are waiting for this New Revision. If a release is not out by this weekend as promised most Admins would be extremely upset and may bouycot an update till Skadate 7.

It takes a long time to double check your accuracy and so far there are only a few mistakes from your corrections:

17) The captcha image function works but if you don't enter it correcly the user is taken to a NEW page that doesn't have their message for contacting on it.  The users MESSAGE/EMAIL should STAY on the page they are at... it should KEEP all the data that was entered in case they want to change it before re-entering the correct captcha number.  Taking the user to a BLANK page with only the captcha number to enter is not how it works on your other  pages.  This should work the same.
Answer: Fixed

NOPE.  Still working the same exact way it was before.  Here's a couple of images to help you to understand.  Not really sure WHAT you think you fixed.  Just in case you wonder I did empty my cache and retried this and it's STILL now working properly in both IE7 and Firefox.  It should STAY as I've stated before ON the page where they have entered their information and not go off to a new BLANK page.

19) Also, when i look at the front of the profiles in the beta version...where we see for example GOLD or FREE...Why is there a red X on the left ?
Answer: Didn't find this report. Would you provide with screenshot?

This simply does NOT appear in Firefox (Needs to be fixed) but it gives a red X in IE7.  SEE ATTACHED.

24) Fill sized Photos:
Answer: Fixed. Try to empty cache in your browser and refresh the page.

Not only does "empty cache" not make a difference.  But now both IE and Firefox are not able to view [view full-size] - Plus your have enlarged it in the shaded out background but not in the focal window.  See attached FF and IE7 screen shots.
FIREFOX

IE7

NEW: Watermark "Preview" not working even when a CTL "R" is preformed.
See attached

NEW: This may be more of a question than a problem but the current system the "Upload photo max height/width" resizes the upload images to this size.  I tried to upload a photo with 2000x2000 pixels and it was resized to 250x250 which would indicate me that the "Member photo max width/height" is not working.
See attached

i AGREE that the "view image full size" is still not working. as to the X next to the users status, that X only shows up because you have not uploaded a graphic in its place.
