What is the "My Matches" (/member/match_list.php)?  I understand the vague concept (those profiles who match yours), but the specific way that it is supposed to work in SkaDate?  I have a "Match" shown, but I can't figure out on what basis this profile is displayed - it doesn't seem to match up with the "My Match -> About My Match" criteria.

Matches are based on the match fields. By default match fields are "Country", "Sex" and "Birth date". Profile field “Sex” has its match field “Match_sex”. All the values for “Match_sex” are taken from “Sex”. Match fields are connected between each other. If you indicate in your profile that your sex is “male” (“Sex” field) and you are looking for a “female” (“Match_sex” field) the system will match your profile only with a profile of a “female” that is looking for a “male”.

So for example if a girl from the USA (19 years old) is looking for a guy from the USA (22 years old) in her matches will appear all profiles of guys from the USA (22 years old). There will be no other profiles.

Thus the more match fields you create the less matches you get.

After pushing this further within the ticket section (because it appeared broken to me), I finally got the following answer from Angela:

Quote
The algorithm of matches works only in accordance with and looks only for the matches who live in the same country as the member himself.

So how does someone specify, for example, that they are interested in ANY person who meets their criteria (e.g. blue eyes, blond hair, slim) rather than one only in his country??  The answer is, it seems, that they cannot!!!

Suggestion: make "My Matches" actually be that: a list of those who actually match the criteria that a user specifies!!  And if the user does not specify a location, then include all locations.

To me this is basic, and if you're creating an international site (like I am) to force the "match" to be within your own country AND WITH NO WAY FOR A USER TO CHANGE IT (!!) - sure, it may be OK as a default - but to make it impossible to change, is absolutely ridiculous.

Please change this SkaDate!   Grin

Any other Admins support me in this?   Shocked (You know by now that this is the way to get SkaDate to act).

[P.S. This thread should move to the "Suggestions" section]

Was there any news/fix on this - I also have the same grip on this and people on my site find it very amateurish to be honest how the "my matches" works.

Hello guys.
Thanks brusselsshrek  for suggestion. Agreed that profile's matches can't be limited by one country.
Member must be able to have it optional.
Let's move it to Skadate7.
