I am very anxious about Skadate v7 and am actually awaiting the new release to start my new site as I have been advised by your team to wait since it will be very difficult to upgrade/migrate to v7 from prior releases. I therefore have two questions...

1) What is the current v7 Target Release Date? (It was September 2008 but I last was informed it was more likely November 2008)

2) When will you freeze accepting feature suggestions to v7 initial release so you can meet that target? ( I see so many accepted suggestions that it seems you may never release if you keep taking on new suggestions to be included in first release of v7.) I think that once you freeze you need to be specific in your forum responses for accepted features that it will be included post v7 initial release so as not to give false expectations.)

Agree,  Finally there is a serious discussion on Release Date for Skadate 7.... I was also told as well that it would be September but moved to November, but it would be nice if either Adden or Emil can confirmed it here so that Admins can start planning and budgeting.

Guys,

Thanks for your interest. We are currently deep in works of SkaDate 7. We still accept features that will be eventually developed for SkaDate 7 but probably not in the first couple of SkaDate 7 revisions.

The first version of SkaDate 7 will have minimum new suggested features but will introduce new platform with a new level of stability, universal and  quickly integrated templates that support all pieces of content, new administration tools and a lot of minor functionality changes. Our plan is still November.

After testing the first SkaDate 7 iteration we will release new revisions with suggested and accepted features incremental implementation.

I hope this answers your questions.

Thanks for the update. May I suggest though that you add another child board (i.e. Confirmed Changes for Skadate 7 - Initial Release) and move all confirmed features which will be in initial release to this child board. This would give us a good sense of what to expect in the initial release and what will be worked on in later versions which would remain in Confirmed Changes for Skadate 7.

And of course, I spending $200 for an Upgraded to Skadate 7 Release only depends on the Type and Quantity of features included in initial release....

This raises a whole new number of questions:
a) Which of the "SkaDate 7" features will therefore be in the FIRST release of SkaDate 7?  From what you say, not ALL of the things which are listed as going to be in SkaDate 7.
b) Which features will be in which "new revisions"?
c) When are these "new revisions" planned?

Basically we want to know WHAT is coming and WHEN.

I agree with Easton and Brusslesshrek hence my previous post...

So Emil,

Admins can expect say a November 20, 2008 Beta Release for Skadate 7, then actual software release date November 30?

From my experience with Skadate is that, Major Releases come packed with new features and usually big functions. For example, with Skadate 6 major release over 35 new features were included. So i dont expect any difference with Skadate 7.

Hello everyone.
Sorry to keep you waiting but we still do not have any exact dates. According to talks in a "backroom" the exact date of the release will be announced in November.

Ha! Ha!  An announcement of a date in November means delivery in December (at the earliest), or if announced end-Nov means delivery probably in January.

Just so you other admins know.  Tongue

Can someone Remind Skalfa that after Skadate 7 release" Confirm Changes for Skadate 7" , there are a whole lot more of features to be suggested by Admins?

So really there is nothing to be excited about in Skadate 7. Enter the keywords "Online Dating Software" into Google and you will see a whole lot of software already have the Suggested Features for Skadate 7. So in a sense Skadate is logging behind, i made the point before that the features that are now suggested for Skadate 7 should already be in skadate software about 1-2 years ago.....

Sorry I did not want to mislead anyone but I wrote that the exact date of the release will be available in November only because it is not clear right now whether it will be at the beginning of the month or at the mid-month. Thank you for your patience.
