I'm considering a purchase of SkaDate and I'd like to hear from site Owners and/or Admins about their experiences.

Here are a few questions I'm interested in:

1) How easy was your set-up and installation process?

2) How easy is the SkaDate software to use on a day-to-day basis?

3) What are some of the challenges you've experienced that new comers should prepare for and/or avoid?

4) Overall how satisfied are you with your purchase and would you recommend SkaDate to other users?

Feel free to provide your own feedback in addition to the 4 questions listed above.  THANK YOU for your time and consideration.

Yes I would recommend them.  Certainly for the price, the software and the support is excellent value.   The site is working very well for me, and I think it’s working probably better than I imagined.

1) How easy was your set-up and installation process?
I first of all installed it on my own PC for testing (Windows environment) and then installed it on my hosting (Linux environment).  Both installations were pretty easy, though with a few minor niggles under windows (I suppose Skalfa use Linux generally).

2) How easy is the SkaDate software to use on a day-to-day basis?
I use it everyday to administer new profiles and profile administration is really very easy.  There were a few things which were not perfect (e.g. no access to source photo), so I suggested changes here on the forum and Skalfa changed things!  So, very easy.

3) What are some of the challenges you've experienced that new comers should prepare for and/or avoid?
Two things I would do with the benefit of hindsight:
* check the Join IP addresses of people joining to see where they are REALLY from.  Now, for example, I disallow people to say that they are from the USA when I can see they joined from Nigeria.  When I realised I could do this I'd already let through hundreds of fake location profiles.
* Set the password regular expression from the start to disallow very simple passwords
(Both these points I discuss in other posts on this forum)

4) Overall how satisfied are you with your purchase and would you recommend SkaDate to other users?
Very (see my earlier post in this thread)

I disagree with this; I find the customer service very helpful.  Though I have read it's nearly impossible to contact them by phone, I have found the e-mail response is very good.

Yes the email response you get is that it is not their fault, it is someone else's fault.

I have been using this software for about 4 months now. For me, it was easy to install, since I am hosted by SKADate and they implemented it. There were many small bugs at first, but I must say during my first 3 months of free support, they corrected everything for me in a timely fashion. I think for the money spent on this software, they can not be beat. A few things you should know. If you do not pay for support, the only way to let them know about a problem is to send an email to them, you can't create a ticket. Also, my site did go down 2 times and there was no way to get a hold of anyone on the phone. I have told this to the owners and they say they always answer the phone. I have called at different hours, different days, and sometimes it justs rings and other times, I will leave my name, and # to call me, and they have never gotten back to me. This is the only area I feel they need to improve. Everything else has been very good.

Ryan I checked our phone records and found that you called just once. And we did not answer the phone because we had power supply problems. You should call us once again and we’ll answer all your questions.

We do our best to improve our support service. Thus customers’ feedback is appreciated much. We take into consideration all the queries. Please, contact our support or sales staff if you have any troubles or suggestions. Let’s improve things together!
