I would suggest that for SkaDate 7 the release timing is planned a little better.
Probably the two most important things for us as admins are:
- that the delivered version is rock-solid, i.e. as bug free as possible
- that you announce a date and stick to it.
This means you should plan to allow enough time for all the required testing, and bug fixing (from the tests), and retesting, and bug fixing, which means stopping development of new things to allow this time.
- Deadline minus 6 weeks: beta version availaible for testing by admins
- Deadline minus 5 weeks: beta version testing complete
- Deadline minus 4 weeks: pre-production version available for testing by admins
- Deadline minus 3 weeks: pre-production testing complete
- Deadline minus 2 weeks - delivery
- Deadline which was announced
I know this schedule means that you deliver 2 weeks
before the deadline, but that gives you a small margin of error

. Admins aren't going to complain if they get it early are they?
I say all of this now, since if you are planning to deliver end-August...well, I'll leave you to do the maths.
