Ae you refering to Instant Messenger (IM) or the CHAT room ... we have an issue with IM but Chuppo Web Cam Chat is working fine ...

Given some previous upgrade experiences this one in comparison seems fairly trouble free ... (are you on a hosted plan or do you host your own site) ... We are hosted maybe that is why we are reasonable functional.

The lack of release notes is annoying .. turning flags on or off and second guessing how things work is not the right way forward ...

I have 2 issues that I know of so far
IM not working at all
The new gender split on who is online and top pics looks like it is hard coded to females and males. It does not look at the database, SEX on our site is females or couples and NOT males.  Still trying to figure out if I can 'fudge' this myself ...

Hi guys,
I have been running skadate for nearly a year now but have only recently discovered this board. I run my site on its own server and have just recently upgraded from 802 to 863. The upgrade was a bit difficult and no instructions available that applied to this revision specifically was more than a pain! That was the first major problem because if you follow the upgrade instructions you will be replacing your index.php file in the root directory as a result. That means no access at all for your members! fortunately, I was able to solve this in seconds from a backup. Secondly, If you follow upgrade instructions to the letter in the upgrade manual you will hunt forever for a file named run.php (Step 3 in the upgrade manual) which acually does not even unpack from the tar file, then you discover "hours later" that if grading from revision 802 you do not need to apply step 3. Infact you had better not! I would think that skadate would release an install manual for each revision that applies to that specific revision. The upgrade manual says to download  a gunzip.gz type file "skadate_diff.tar.gz" when in all actuality it is infact an rar file you should be downloading! "skadate_diff.rar". Its little things like that that make loss of time and production for us admins in the self managed solution. In addition, the upgrade does not create some folders required for the actual upgrade so one has to create those folders first before uploading the actual gunzip or rar files or you will get a new surprise!.Even after all that, Self managed solutions are the way to go for me! I have all the control and tech support is usually fairly fast if needed at 55.00 a month as needed. Most times a response within 24 hours. Not great if your site is down like the current case of our upgrade killing the IM.............."Fatal error: Call to undefined method appAjaxIM::gettimeoutstamp() in /home2/asianpri/public_html/app/app.ajax_im.php on line 23" Geeeze! Our chat works fine but IM is in the dump!

Check with tech support first and this is Just a suggestion! To fix the IM issue, simply upload the file from revision 802 located in the app folder named (app.ajax_im.php) to your server! You can get revision 802 from the download site at skadate. You can unpack the revision on your computer and ftp the file to your server. Example: Replace the following file located in public_html/app/app.ajax_im.php now on your server (revision 863) with the same named file from (revision 802) This worked great on our server! It will solve the IM issue untill The skadate team gets their new file fixed.
If your unsure how to do this, ask tech support to do it for you.
